PURE PM: User Management
Role: Director of Product Design
Team: VP of Product (Ashley Fidler), Product Designer (Brenda Perez), Software Engineer (Steve Babb)
At PURE, managing user permissions across a variety of user types and offices was a critical need as the release date loomed closer. Design was tasked to create a simple user management feature that allowed non-IT admins to easily assign and update these permissions, ensuring secure and appropriate access to sensitive property, owner, and tenant information. This feature was pivotal in reducing reliance on IT support, streamlining processes, and enabling quicker, more efficient user management.
Overview
The Problem
PURE faced the challenge of managing a diverse set of user types, each requiring distinct permissions based on their role and office locations. The existing process was cumbersome, requiring IT tickets for any permission change, which delayed operations and burdened the IT department. The company needed a solution that allowed non-IT admins to manage user permissions directly, quickly, and without errors, all while being intuitive enough for non-technical users. Additionally, the solution had to be developed under tight time constraints, necessitating a design that was both user-friendly and feasible for rapid deployment.
